123: Incomplete

Evening of Biosh 23rd...
Experience:

Summary
  • With the doctor's dispatched, and the majority of the Sons dead or defeated, the battle was all but won. It seemed no one told the surviving Sons, who continued the fight despite its inevitable outcome.
  • One Son did prove a momentary match for the Archwarden of Destruction, and lanced him under the arm with a proud aspersion. Tyvis recognized the voice of his father, Aerik, whom he quickly descended upon and began the arduous process of getting him to listen to a truth too incredible to believe- ultimately resorting to his tried-and-proven 8-year-old tactics to do so. While Aerik was hardly convinced he was reprogrammed by imperial scientists, and found it much more reasonable Tyvis was a shape-shifting wizard with a sadistic streak, he ultimately agreed to follow the party as a prisoner of sorts, willing to entertain almost any notion if it meant possibly seeing his family again.
  • Halbrech, the only Lieutenant Technician left, was dragged before Rogar and Tesarra, equally menacing as they discussed how best to extract information. The machine won that debate, boring into the man's brain with her snaking hair-cords. Learning what she could, basically a more detailed schematic of the gulag, she tossed him aside. He didn't have much longer to live...

Gained Resources: access to ship domiciles and offices (Tesarra)
Expended Resources: Elven Essence (Tesarra)

New NPCs
Aerik Waylan: Tyvis' father was at long last found, now a brave Son who faced off against Rogar with nothing but a spear and managed to survive long enough for the Archwarden to lose interest and go elsewhere. Aerik's memories had been altered so that it seemed his family was murdered before his eyes by northerners, and that they died in his arms, thereby instilling unwavering hatred, fear, xenophobia, and loyalty. However, Tyvis was able to talk him down enough to at least accompany him for a chance to see his wife Maria and daughter Chiela again. The trust is tenuous at best, but it could have gone much worse...

Returning NPCs: Alastras (now an elven dregoi thanks to the restorative, but altering, powers of Narra's Elven Essence); Rees (grateful and determined to help the party decommission the gulag); Doctor Halbrech (dead: smeared to paste by Rogar in a fit of rage, after divulging what he may through Tesarra's tentacle mind-rape); Doctor Rech (escaped via teleporter into another part of the ship); Doctor Dagris (dead: pushed off the roof of the distillery by Tyvis); Northern Bastards: "Mother", "Braids", and "Blond" (awake, terrified, lost, and compliant); Gen-A-E (chasing Auro through the ship); Koro-Coal (enjoying her revenge against the Nors); Koro-Hail (worried for the well-being of his missing sisters)

Plot Developments
  • The reprogramming of dissidents into Sons of Nor keeps much of their personalities intact. They are not mindless drones. Instead, memories are reconfigured with designs of instilling the maximum rage, hate, and fear needed to foster the loyal zealots which comprise the Red Brotherhood (another name for the Sons, who favor imperial reds).
  • Tesarra learned through her probings of Halbrech's mind that the three essential systems of the ship (the warp, core, and engine) could only be accessed by the Surgeon-General Ibelyn or Engineer-Captain Zarnov.

Next Session: Rogar like a juggernaut in the lead, the party races toward the engine room before the misplaced Raina is met by the whole of the gulag's defensive forces, directed to her position with the singular command: "Exterminate"
