163: The Guest in Yellow

Synopsis (Patarm 14th of the 21st Year After Shalraza):

Diana

Meanwhile,

Endymion apologizes

Eilessa recognized the crystal ball

Drelzna arrived with Diana, Ireena, and Grigore in tow. Caiphon immediately recognized the babe as a star child and rejoiced, quietly informing the goddess. They thought to keep it to themselves until Ireena, at Drelzna's behest, revealed the child's potential to the delegation. The Prince of Hastur's eyes transfixed on Grigore.

Dasein recognized the potential threat, as did many in the party, and feigned his rejection of the peace offering in hopes of distracting the Yth-agent and providing plausible excuse for the attendees to find safe distance. It worked, to a point, as Dasein cast a quick spell which ejected everyone from the curtain-enclosed council table. All, save the Azerbadi prince, who stood slowly and let the great, crimson shroud fall over him. It quickly stained ochre...

The Prince of Hastur was in fact the King in Yellow. Even the most advanced psychic, divine, and arcane detections could not expose it, though the party had a growing suspicion since first laying eyes on him. Isabella provided a magic pearl and instant means of escape for Drelzna, Ireena, and the precious star child, though the Ythlord assured her "nowhere is safe".

Narra quickly teleported the deserving delegates out of immediate danger (and maybe a few undeserving), though the infamous Divine Inquisitor Valdemar Volker was not one of them. His face melted off as his mind was turned inside out from the growing impossibility of the Ythlord's presence.

Dasein dropped the illusion, revealing himself as Highking Gloriandel, joining Endymion and the party as one of the most powerful congregations that could possibly be assembled in the light of Yg-Raya.

Sufficiently wounded, the aspect of the Unspeakable One retreated back into Loranna. The planet's destruction seemed imminent. Endymion agreed to help complete the Legacy, Narra's secret weapon involving the hearts, ships, and helms, while Gloriandel decided to dispatch the lesser Ythlord in the Wyld- despite Tyvis's warning of the fragile balance it created with the Green God. Of all people, the emperor agreed to teleport Tyvis to Sev in hopes of salvaging a powerful potential champion- though he couldn't vouch for what happened afterward. Giving Craius proper instructions, the Archdruid again braved the unknown, finally meeting with his antithesis.

Narra took the others to the Tesseract, where she would reveal the details of the Legacy.
